Cocoon Defined

The pupa stage of a moth or other insect. Usually "cocoon" refers to the outer layer that contains the pupa inside. Cocoons may be made of silk spun from a caterpillar, or dead leaves or wood, cemented together with saliva. Earthworms (which are not insects) lay their eggs in cocoons; a different kind of cocoon, which protects the egg.

Smoking in the Minnesota Zoo stubbed out - Lakeville Today TV News - Monday, June 22, 2009

Citing health concerns and the need for a cleaner environment, the zoo in Apple Valley announced last week it would begin banning smoking on premises Saturday, June 20. The Minnesota Zoo previously prohibited smoking inside buildings, but allowed smoking outdoors.
